I am D/62305 Pte Larouche, A.L., Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa. I and Pte Cochrane were hut orderlies in Room No 11. On the morning go 15 January 1945 I awoke at approximately 0600 hrs and looked over towards Pte Cochranes bed and saw that he was smoking a cigarette. At the usual hour I went on breakfast parade and when I returned I noticed that Pte Cochrane, who was in bed, was very pale. I immediately called Corporal Dick who examined him, and Cpl Dick went for the MO.
I am C/20740 Cpl Dick, J.B., Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa. On the morning of 15 January 1945 when I returned from breakfast at approximately 0730 hrs I noticed a group of men around Pte Cochrane's bed, They called me over to try and arouse him. I noticed he was very pale and limp and I immediately called the Medical Corporal. The Medical Corporal felt his pulse and heart, and after a few minutes went for MO.
